Jacks 3 2 1 is an effective and low cost hydroponic nutrient. Maybe you have heard of it but are having a hard time finding it. That’s because it’s not a product name but rather a mixing ratio.
JACKS 3 2 1 What Is It?
Jacks 3 2 1 is made by JR Peters, Inc. They have been making hydroponic fertilizers for commercial greenhouses since 1947.
They also make Jacks Nutrients. Now many cannabis growers, both large and small have discovered you dont need expensive bottled nutrients to grow good weed crops. And Jack’s picked up on this and started adding products to their 3 2 1 mix.
They are now making starter, bloom boosters and finishers to their line up. They are obviously targeting cannabis growers with these new products.
Do you need them? Probably not. I think the 3 2 1 mix is totally adequate to grow a good crop. I plan on only running the basic formula. I want to see what it can do before I start adding anything else to it.
So this mix is measured by weight starting with 3 parts of 5-12-26 PART A which is their basic nutrient formula.
Then 2 parts 15-0-0 PART B which is calcium nitrate. Finally one part of Magnesium Sulfate – Epsom Salts is added.
I have used the 3 2 1 formulation on and off for years. I have spent a lot of money on expensive bottled nutrients along the way too. Water is expensive. It has to be bottled and since it is heavy it is expensive to ship. It can leak and nutrient mixes with it can settle out or change over time.
Since Jacks 3 2 1 is a powder all you have to do is keep it dry and it will last forever. It is much cheaper by the 25 pound sack but if you just want to try it out there are smaller sizes.
